I’m completely normal about this movie…
Anyway won’t it be cool if all media was treated with this much love and care
I need to extensively talk about Gwen’s universe design because holy shit!!!!
the only “defined” elements are the people most of the time and why??? because the environment is a direct reflection of Gwen’s emotions!!!
from the color to the amount of details and the clarity of everything!!! it is fuCKING GENIUS!!!!
when she’s “alright” we can distinguish the elements that make up the environment but when she’s frustrated, sad, confused, when her mind and emotions are all over the place, when she’s overwhelmed, all we can see is a confusing, distraught, blue mess and I LOVE IT SO MUCH
the care and attention to detail that went into this movie deserve so much recognition, it is a work of art in and on itself
Remember that moment in ITSV, when Miles first meets his world’s Spider-Man and their spider senses do the thing?
The background behind Peter is as we’d expect; the classic red and blue.
But at first Miles’ background is green and purple, two colors he’s never associated with at all throughout the movie. As the moment goes on, it shifts to match Peter’s.
We are literally watching Miles’ fate change and the anomaly happen.
It’s well established that the spider that bit him was not supposed to even be in that universe, meaning our Miles was supposed to be something else before it happened.
This isn’t true for ITSV, but in every other version of Spider-Man, the main color scheme for the Prowler is green and purple.
Our Miles was supposed to become the next Prowler in his world. And the only reason he’s not, is because of the original Prowler. Miles switched his fate with Earth-42 Miles.
I finally found time to read a ballad of songbirds and snakes and like…
Me: “Coryo? That’s a weird nickname for Cornelius.”
Me: …
Me: …
Me: …
Me: hey wait wtf—
This whole scene man. And for Hobie nope out spider society afterwards with chaos going on lol
This comment sums it up best
(Across the Spider-Verse spoiler)
so are you like.. a cow or a dalmatian?
I’m still not over Miles’s heartbroken expression when he said “I wanted to be with you guys so badly”
The way his voice cracked and his body posture was slumped. He turned his face away from Peter because he couldn’t bear to look at him.
Miles chose to pursue a career in physics, even though he loves art because it would bring him closer to seeing the rest of the spiders. Yet he found out that everyone, everyone could’ve seen him.
But they couldn’t bare to look at him, to see him, and god that was heartbreaking. That they were so close to him and yet everytime they chose not to see him, to help the boy, the friend who brought love back into their lives.
And when they did come back to him, they weren’t even there to see him. They all left him alone, while they were with the only other people in the multiverse who could’ve understood eachother.
genuinely cannot believe that the two best multiverse movies of the year both had the main villain’s motivation be a BAGEL
The way Gamora and Nebula grunt at eachother as a greeting
The way Groot, Mantis and Peter all ask “Did that look cool?”
Mantis saying she wont use her powers to manipulate the feelings of friends but doesn’t think twice to make Drax forget she admitted she thinks he’s stupid.
Gamora holding people hostage is her thing
Nebula enjoying a soda pop (this just seemed so pure)The way Batch 89 does not shame each other at any moment and just have nothing but love for each other
Adam’s love for Blurp
Drax’s self proclamation of being Peter’s #1 Best Friend and no one confirming or denying it each time
The badass fight scene with the Hellspawn that just made everyone look so cool and working together while also showcasing each character’s unique fighting style
Groot pulling a ton of guns out of himself and going berserker
Kaiju Groot
Counter Earth being stuck in the 1980s
Just every dang line out of Baby Rocket, all the little grammatical errors and how sweet and hopeful he was
Peter the overshare-er
Nebs
Groot being concerned over all the Guardians, worried about Peter, checking on and comforting Drax, Watching over Rocket
The way Peter’s voice squeaks when Nebula tells him she didn’t tell him he was in contact with Gamora because she didn’t want him to get all freaked out
Drax getting peer pressured by kids to finally dance
Peter helping Rocket save a zoo’s worth of animals just because it was important to Rocket
“The Creation of Adam”
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: GOTG have the smoothest, most planned, movie series with a satisfying ending.
[SPOILERS]
It shows that:
- the main male lead and female lead doesn’t have to end up together
- endings doesn’t have to be tragic or sad to be remarkable
- heroes deserve to be saved too
- people change, and that’s okay
- keep the character arc constant throughout different movies
- give villain’s minions some character and thoughts. When High Revolutionary’s subordinate went against him? And that Ura girl? Amazing.
- some villains can have no sob backstory and justification of what they done and still be a good villain (story-wise), and audience don’t need to empathize. It’s ok if they just want to cheer heroes as they kick the villain’s ass
- You can make good jokes WITHOUT undermining the emotional aspect. Go ahead, joke, but know where to stop. I feel that’s what new MCU movies lacked lately.
@ the people complaining about Adam Warlock in GOTG 3
